This 9 × 12 print is a bit of a twist on the memento mori concept. In remembering that life is fleeting every day is an opportunity to make the most of the time we have. The embrace of death is inescapable and gives life its particular bittersweet flavor.

Relief prints are a type of printing in which the artist carves away everything that they don’t want printed. In this case the blocks are made of a material somewhere between a linoleum floor and a rubber eraser. In this case there are 4 prints all numbered and signed. All prints are hand carved and pulled by Claire.

These prints are also embellished with watercolor painting and each one will have slight variations.
